Fender “Full Dip” pickups
Starting with the Vintera II recipe, Fender added two tasty twists:
- Alnico 2 magnets: The standard Alnico 5 magnets have been swapped for Alnico 2 to tame harsh frequencies, smooth out the EQ and allow your notes to bloom with a sweeter, bell-like top end.
- +5% overwind: A little extra wire gives you more midrange punch and output — perfect for pushing dirt pedals without squashing your dynamics.
4-way series/parallel selector switch
For even more tonal flavour, this Tele features an expanded 4-way switch. The additional position runs both pickups in series, essentially creating one massive, high-output humbucker! Here’s a breakdown of all the pickup settings you can play with:
- Position 1: Bridge pickup.
- Position 2: Bridge & neck pickups (in parallel).
- Position 3: Neck pickup.
- Position 4: Neck & bridge pickups (in series).
